JUST ANOTHER MAVIC STUN DAY
DJI Mavic 3

When it comes to drones, it often feels like DJI is the only name in town… and if the new Mavic 3 flies the fly like it talks the talk, that’s not likely to change any time soon.
Wind resistance is up 35%, thanks in part to more efficient motors and props.
● Borne under a ’blad sign
The Mavic 3’s Hasselblad-branded camera is a dual offering. You get a 24mm prime and a 162mm tele lens with 28x hybrid zoom – the latter allowing you to close in on subjects from a bit further away, so they can focus on landing that death-defying golf-buggy backflip without being put off by a hovering drone. The camera system offers an adjustable aperture, and can shoot 20MP stills in 12-bit RAW or videos at 5.1K @ 50fps and 4K @ 120fps. The 4/3 CMOS sensor should mean top performance in low light – an area where drones often disappoint.
● Downed don’t bother me
The Mavic 3 might be aimed at handy drone pilots, but that doesn’t mean DJI assumes there’s no chance of you hauling it into a tree. So it has omnidirectional obstacle-sensing to ensure you can get the shots you want without worrying about nasty collisions. Multiple wide-angle sensors work in tandem with a ‘vision-computing engine’ to sense dangers in all directions.
