Chronologically speaking, something strange has happened here. The latest MacBook Pro, while sporting cutting-edge tech, has been created as if the last few years of Apple notebooks didn’t exist. Instead we get what feels like a natural evolution of an older Pro, before Apple became obsessed with ‘thin’.
For starters, it has a row of function keys and far greater connectivity than last year’s 13in Pro: HDMI, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SDXC card slot, plus MagSafe charging. Best of all, you can choose between M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, which both offer superb raw specs. The 14in Liquid Retina XDR display features Mini LED tech, and it’ll outperform most in terms of battery life.
