Does this puzzle game have what it takes to earn its stripes?

Not to get philosophical here but do you ever wonder what constitutes a ‘game’? What is it about the DNA of even the most simple titles that makes them an actual game rather than just a ‘puzzle’ or brainteaser? Is a sudoku puzzle a ‘game’? If you took it in turns to complete a number, would that make a sudoku more like a tabletop game?
It’s similar to the age old question - is soup a drink or a food? And obviously that depends on the receptacle you’re using. No debate!
