PYRAMIDICE
Dice, Gods, and Ancient Egypt
Designer: Luigi Ferrini | Publisher: Ares
Alongside Cthulhu, Vikings and trains, few themes have lured more contemporary game designers than Ancient Egypt. In Pyramidice, you’re tasked with the most iconic of Ancient Egyptian activities, constructing pyramids – out of actual dice, no less. By drafting dice and worshipping various gods from the great pantheon to aid you, you compete to become the most famous architect in Egypt.
The game flow consists of two types of turn – Work and Rest. On Work turns you gather and roll dice, acquire god cards and add dice to the pyramids you’re working on communally. On Rest turns, you take one of the rest tiles spread out in a tableau beneath the board, and either take the resources shown or do the ability depicted, which can be anything from paying Fame points (your VPs) to gain extra resources, to spending Fame points to acquire an extra god.
