The Artist | June 2025
Welcome to this June issue of The Artist. I hope you’re prepared for a busy month of painting ahead, as this issue is packed with features by all your favourite artists, as well as some new ones – such as Ann Flynn, winner of The Artist Award at last year’s Royal Society of Marine Artists’ exhibition. Here she talks to Caroline Saunders about how important the play of light is to her in her marine and still-life oil paintings. The sparkle of sunlight on water in her paintings is amazing! Another new artist to introduce you to is Robi Robinson, a batik artist who uses the ancient technique of painting with wax and dyes to create breathtaking work on fabric. Tushar Sabale braves the high-stake world of capturing weddings in acrylic paint, describing what it takes to be a ‘live’ painter in such circumstances; and in similar vein, Rodney Kingston embarks on some live painting himself to depict his local football club at a very wet floodlit stadium.
Enjoy all the month has to offer.
