The Searcher  |  September 2024
What's new in this issue?
Our cover EXCLUSIVE this month is a highly significant Bronze Age torc found by Bob Ward on a small group dig. Bob recounts the events of its discovery and Adam Staples describes why it’s such an important find. Elsewhere within the pages this month is a Bronze Age hoard unearthed by Dan Greenaway which was excavated professionally and Mike Sinclair shares finds from the rebel Emperors. The beach is often where detectorists head whilst waiting for permissions to be harvested. In our annual beach detecting feature, Daniel Spencer and Ashley Jones tested four machines on dry and wet sand and suggested some settings you could try. We also have details of the new Garrett Vortex which we’ll also field test as soon as one becomes available. Of course, there’s so much more to inspire and inform between the covers.
