Adrift in his early twenties, Fredrick Fitzell (Dylan O’Brien) tries to work out exactly where his life went wrong in this glitchy existential thriller. Could it be something to do with a drug dalliance he had with Maika Monroe’s Cindy during his years in high school? If so, why can’t he remember any of it? Writer/director Christopher MacBride, who made an impact with 2012’s excellent The Conspiracy, goes for a Jacob’s Ladder vibe, but despite a strong cast and unsettling visuals, the end result becomes just a little too elliptical for its own good.
