I LOST A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY RECENTLY. MYdear cousin Kevin was a Scots Guard and Iraq War veteran. He was only 52. Kevin was an admirable family man, not a fisherman. Which is not to say that never the twain shall meet, but in truth, I doubt the patience and care he showed for his children and others would extend to standing in a river. The closest Kevin came to a trout was probably when we were kids, swimming in the Border Esk at Canonbie, or when he and his brother Douglas were mucking about in the Caldew at Dalston, near Carlisle, where they once lived. He will be dearly missed.
