Ubikwist Magazine  |  Ubikwist #6 Eclectic issue
Ubikwist #6. To be Eclectic is a state of omnipresence: it reflects in our art, the way we dress, our identities, and even the stories we tell. It is represented through an amalgam of styles from different time periods and origins. After 5 landmark issues, Ubikwist continues to fuse high art with dazzling fashion, bold imagery, activism, and profound storytelling. This issue is led by artists who draw upon a multiplicity of styles that defy a single paradigm to manifest a cohesive whole. This edition is the embodiment of Ubikwist: the messy and the imperfect, the artistic mélange, the regal and distinctively unique forms
of expression. After all, perfect is the enemy of inclusion and representation matters more to us than polish.
This is our most diverse issue yet as we continue to be a significant cultural map for society. It’s not a Ubikwist issue without beautiful and heartfelt stories. We continue to express ourselves with an unfiltered honesty in a way that touches every reader – an honesty that enriches and evolves our emotional intelligence. It’s what sets us apart from other magazines. This edition featured a wide variety of artists including the inspiring Renaissance man Melvin Van Peebles, the designer Andre Walker, the director Amma Asante, the radical artist Dread Scott and trans model, actress, and activist Indya Moore, among others. This volume is dedicated to the extraordinary legend, artist, and fashion icon Judy Blame.
