A rare Georgian invalid’s ‘chair lift’ is one of the highlights at the Scone Palace Antiques & Fine Art Fair.
Dealer Andrew Stephens of Carse Antiques, which offers the piece for £950, says that the unique piece would have been made for someone who lived in a country house – with many servants available to carry it. The lift is designed so that it sits on the steps with both sets of handles off the ground, making it easy to move.
