EIGHTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD Ed Whitlock became the oldest man ever to break four hours for a marathon in Toronto on Sunday October 16.

The octogenarian from Milton, Ontario, clocked a phenomenal 3:56:33 to break the previous record – Australian Robert Horman’s 4:34:55 on July 4, 2004 – by more than half an hour at the Toronto Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon.
