Gunmart  |  Aug-16
One hundred years ago, hundreds of thousands of British troops were killed and wounded during The Battle of the Somme. It is impossible to imagine the horror that those men must have endured and we must never forget their sacrifice. We at Gun Mart are dedicating the August issue to the memory of those brave souls, who gave their lives in such brutal circumstances. May they and those who fought alongside them, as well as those who fought against them, rest in peace. Most of our sections have a Battle of the Somme theme to the reviews and articles and we hope you enjoy them.
In ‘Airguns’ the Editor, Graham Allen, tries to decide if a Mauser C96 semi auto would be better to have in your holster than the formidable Webley Mk VI revolver. In ‘Firearms’, Pete Moore pits the Lee Enfield SMLE against the Mauser G98 and in ‘Airsoft’ Bill Thomas looks at a long-barrelled Luger. In ‘Militaria Mart’ Graham Allen describes some of his Trench Art collection and John Norris visits the Royal Signals Museum and remembers The Battle of the Somme from a re-enactment point of view.
