YOU’LL NEED THIS
The beauty of both Files and Sigma File Manager is that while they’re designed to replace File Explorer, they sit quietly alongside it, giving you time to try both before deciding if either is a suitable replacement. You might decide that they’re good for specific scenarios, but prefer File Explorer for day-to-day use.
To create a workspace, click the Workspaces button, followed by the edit (pencil) button. Click + to add a new workspace. Name it and type the full path to the directory you want this to point Navigator to—for example, E:/Photos.

If you’d like to pivot to either app, you could simply pin your app of choice’s shortcut on the taskbar and unpin File Explorer as a halfway house. However, if you’d like to replace File Explorer with Files, you can go further and make it the default file manager. Simply navigate to Settings > Advanced, where you’ll find the on/off toggle. Once set, pressing Win + Ewill open Files and it’ll be evoked in place of File Explorer by any app that makes use of the file manager. On the downside, it comes with a warning that changes are made to the Registry that may result in unexpected side-effects.
