Nestled at the foot of Colorado’s Elk Mountain range, sits the charming town of Aspen, known by many for its winter sports and the opulent lifestyle it offers to those who are wealthy enough to call it home. However, once the snow melts and warmer weather takes hold, the mountains transform into nature’s paradise, and, contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to break the bank to experience the best this charming town and its surrounds have to offer.
As an adventure athlete, I was initially lured here by the appeal of the mountains and the myriad of activities they present to those who are that way inclined. But, I quickly realised it was a haven of health and wellbeing that didn’t need to be fuelled by a daily dose of adrenaline — although that can easily be arranged.
