Black Dandy is a new New Zealandbased print and digital fiction quarterly launching in late 2017. It is edited by Andrew Lynch and dedicated to the bizarre, dreamy, unsettling. Lynch says he likes a slow burning tale but want stories to intrigue from the start. Set the tone early, even if your story’s unusual nature takes time to unfold. Think to magic realism, the gothic and surrealism as compass points. Your story should leave the reader feeling jarred, shaken by a collision of the familiar and unfamiliar.
Andrew and assistant editor Audrey Lynch are now reading for issues 2-4 of Black Dandy. Submissions should be 2,500-7,000 words. Payment is NZ3¢ per word. Submit a doc or rtf file by email to: submissions@blackdandy.co Full guidelines are on the website: https://blackdandy.co/
