Utopia Kitchen & Bathroom Magazine September 2017 Back Issue

Summer has flown by in a blaze of deadlines, work trips and company visits. It’s always a pleasure to get out and see some of the people behind the beautiful kitchens I get to write about every day, and I’ve been so impressed by the hard work, skill and craftsmanship that goes into the finished product.

I recently visited Humphrey Munson’s kitchen factory and showroom and was delighted to discover all their handmade kitchens on display are fully working -- the smell of baked bread and fresh coffee had me sold before I’d even walked through the door! Showrooms can be so intimidating sometimes, so to sit and enjoy breakfast in one and see first hand exactly how their kitchens work was a real pleasure, and one extended to all their customers too.

I was also treated to a two-day trip to Italy to visit the stunning HQ of leading cooker hood company, Falmec, based just a few miles from Venice. The creativity and knowledge involved in making these state-of-the-art products was awe-inspiring. The family run company has been able to produce completely noiseless models, cooker hoods that eliminate bacteria and air purifiers all from their solar fuelled factory.

So, I can say with confidence that when you invest in a high-end quality product for your home, you really are getting your money’s worth. I hope you enjoy my picks of the very best on offer in the kitchen and bathroom industry in this month’s September issue!
