Warlord Games’ Epic Battle series has proven very popular with Wargames Illustrated readers. Initially covering the Black Powder conflicts of the American Civil War and the Napoleonic Wars, it later expanded to include Hail Caesar territory, featuring Romans, Celts, and Carthaginians. This month, Epic Black Powder returns and heads back West with the American War of Independence.

We have teamed up once again with Warlord Games to bring you your first sprues for their new Epic range. With previous issues having borne ACW, Napoleonic, and Hail Caesar Freebie Frames, this month, your copy of Wargames Illustrated comes bagged with one of four Epic Revolution! frames: a red or blue ‘generic infantry’ sprue, a red Hessian sprue, or a blue Continentals/Militia sprue.

Just as we were going to press, we received the sad news that Martin Stanbridge of the Loughton Strike Wargames Club had unexpectedly passed away. Martin was an exceptionally talented model maker; his Warsaw 1944 table deservedly won Best in Show at this year’s Salute wargames show and was featured in Wargames Illustrated only two months ago. Martin will be deeply missed by all those who know him.
