IT’S OFTEN THE case that the smallest siblings try to copy their bigger brothers and sisters – and the Renault Captur has done exactly that. Indeed, it’s been updated to mimic Renault’s larger SUVs, including the Austral and Rafale. So, rather than looking like a jacked-up Clio with black plastic wheel arches (a criticism you might have levelled at previous versions), this small SUV now looks, well, more like an SUV.
There are other changes, too, including a new infotainment system. The 10.4in touchscreen is sharp and easy to see and reach (the fact that it’s angled towards the driver helps). As long as you steer clear of entry-level Evolution trim, it also features Google Maps navigation and Google Assistant speech recognition – one of the best voice control systems we’ve tried.
