THE DEFENDER HAS come a long way from its utilitarian workhorse roots, but it certainly hasn’t forgotten them. The latest iteration of this rugged fourwheel-drive SUV is right up with the best in terms of off-road ability, yet, unlike its illustrious forebear, it also has fine on-road manners, including a comfortable ride (air suspension is standard in our preferred 110 guise) and reasonable refinement.
