HOW I TRAIN
Based in Sheffield on the outskirts of the Peak District, Marie left behind life in London, and her local parkrun, for mountain and ultra running
Marie advises runners to pick races that inspire them, and not rush to try and do everything at once

What’s the hardest race you’ve ever done?
It would be a toss-up between the 50K Ultra Trail Snowdonia (UTS) race, given it was my first ever ultra and mountain race, and the 55K OCC UTMB World Series Finals race that I completed in August last year.
Where’s your favourite place to run?
I live in Sheffield and the stunning Peak District is on my doorstep. It’s probably one of the reasons why anyone should get into trail running. I do also love Snowdonia, as that was where my involvement in running started, as a volunteer at a checkpoint for UTS in 2021.
