THE BIG QUESTIONS
The running topics we’ve been talking about this month
How do you force yourself to run when it’s cold and dark outside?
@JoKent I remind myself that some people are not able to run at all and I’m extremely lucky to have a body that allows me to do this. An intimidating race in the near future also helps!
@Gwiddon88 I don’t force myself out running! Instead, I retreat to the treadmill until boredom sets in.
@lisaSpare I tell myself that the more I do now the easier it will be on race day. I put a podcast on, wrap up warm and just do it.
How did your marathon go?
@Bridget Augustine Just like Esther, WR editor, I ran the TCS New York Marathon for the first time in 2023. It was a blast! Starting out on that iconic bridge with 10,000 other runners was really emotional for me. Also, I remember the energy I got from the residents along the way, especially in Brooklyn, because it helped carry me through, even when my quads were killing me.
