Catherine Ndereba
She’s one of the greatest female marathon runners of all time, and also a key part of Kenya’s roll call of most accomplished and cherished athletes
Between 2003 and 2008, Catherine Ndereba was unstoppable. She finished in the top two in five successive global marathons. On top of this, she won the marathon at the World Championships twice and won silver medals at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games. All of these achievements came after she had given birth to her daughter, Jane, in 1997.
