Research has revealed that blackcurrants not only strengthen your immune system, increase energy, reduce arterial stiffness and blood pressure, but also that they can enhance your ability to burn fat.
UK-based research revealed that after taking New Zealand blackcurrant extract supplement CurraNZ for a week, participants burned up to 13.2 grams more fat (116 calories) over two hours of moderate-intensity exercise. Under normal circumstances, regular exercise conditions the body to use more fat as fuel. To achieve fat burning gains of over 20 per cent usually requires three to four weeks of endurance training.
