What do you remember about your first race?
It was my local 10K in Shrewsbury in March 2017, almost a year after I started running. On race day, I was more nervous than on my wedding day. Standing on the start line, my tummy was in knots and my legs felt like jelly. The course was hilly, and I remember feeling at 7K that I couldn’t run another step. My friend urged me on and I ran the whole 10K and finished in 1hr 02mins. The medal was beautiful and meant a great deal to me, but more than that, the elation of crossing the finish line and the post-run buzz was like nothing I’d ever felt before. I was hooked!
