It started with the heatwave. The school run dictates that the majority of my running takes place mid-morning, and as the temperatures rose (and then positively soared), my willingness to don my trainers and take to the sweltering streets took a nosedive.
But it was OK, I told myself; it would only be a few missed sessions. Give it a couple of days and I would be back on track. Except it didn’t quite pan out that way. Seemingly within the blink of an eye, those couple of missed sessions morphed into a couple of missed weeks.
