GET SET FOR WINTER
You’ve got chills? And they’re multiplying? Before you lose control of your training plan this winter, check out our guide to staying run fit during the colder months – sometimes without leaving the house!
The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder and wetter. It’s easy for your running to fall by the wayside in favour of curling up on the sofa with a boxset. But if you can establish a routine that works for you early on, you’ll have a better chance of staying active this winter.
It might be unrealistic for you to maintain the same number of runs you’ve been doing in the summer and autumn once it gets darker. If you run early or late and don’t feel safe running once the clocks change, there are other ways you can get your endorphin fix and stay fit. Here’s how to do it.

INDOOR CARDIO
Get your heart pumping without stepping outside. Choose your favourite activity or something you’ve been wanting to try for a while. Swimming, indoor cycling, a gym class or a brisk walk; anything that gets you moving and your heart rate up. If you’ve got a road bike, a turbo trainer can adapt it to allow you to train indoors.
