Ditmar winners
The annual Ditmar Awards recognising achievement in Australian speculative fiction were presented in October in Canberra at Conflux 16, the Australian National Science Fiction Convention. The awards are named in honour of Australian fan and artist Martin James Ditmar ‘Dick’ Jenssen who financially supported the awards at their inception in 1969. The winners of the 2022 awards were: Best Novel, The Bridge, J.S. Breukelaar, Meerkat Press; Best Novella or Novelette, ‘Ariadne, I Love You’, J. Ashley-Smith, in Ariadne, I Love You, Meerkat Press; Best Short Story, ‘The King in Yella’, Kaaron Warren, in Under Twin Suns: Alternate Histories of the Yellow Sign, Hippocampus Press; Best Collected Work, Tool Tales, Ellen Datlow and Kaaron Warren, IFWG Publishing Australia.
