I am not programmed to sew. This may have begun at school when, during a needlework class, I was asked to stand on the table and do a twirl in the skirt I made. I obeyed, twirling enthusiastically, until the skirt fell from the waistband and I came to a halt in my knickers. I digress. This often happens. I meant to talk about a sort of story-sewing. Let’s call it the Patchwork Method.
