True crime author Carol Anne Davis explores the dark side of human nature with Chris High
Carol Anne Davis
Dundee-born true crime and fiction author Carol Anne Davis certainly knows how to make her stories – real and imagined – rich in detail, engaging and disturbing. Carol’s fifteenth book, Masking Evil (Summersdale), is available now and takes the reader on a journey exploring why outwardly ‘normal’ people commit horrendous crimes. The book contains over 35 profiles, including the Sunday school teachers who killed their spouses in order to be together, the nurse who wanted a baby so badly that she cut one from another woman’s womb and the trainee vet who tried to kill his ex-girlfriend’s entire family out of jealousy. Grisly stuff indeed. As one might expect, a great deal of research has to go into getting the facts of true crime profiles absolutely right, a task that might affect many writers, but not so Carol Anne.
