Hooked on hooks
Think of a reason to get editors snapping at your pitch, says Patrick Forsyth
L arge though the world is, there can still be problems in selecting places about which to write. Paris is a wonderful city but the amount that has been written about it is legion. You must balance (at least) three factors: first, what suits you. When I wrote my first travel book, I rejected some places just because I did not want to go there. Secondly, what is likely to appeal to editors, and this goes with the third one: a hook that will actively increase the chances of something appealing to editors.
