SPOTLIGHT ON... Verulam Writers
St Albans has always been stuffed full of literary talent. So, 68 years ago, the local writing community formed Verulam Writers, and we’re always keen for new members to join, writes Steven Mitchell.
Taking our name from the name of the Roman town where St Albans is now located, we meet in person every two weeks and on Zoom in the alternate weeks. Our evenings include manuscript nights, competitions, workshops, social events, and guest speakers. This season crime writers Howard Linskey and Kate Griffin, romance novelist Lesley Eames, and renowned astronomer and writer Stuart Clark have all visited us. All have been inspirational.
