This year is going so fast, I can’t believe August is upon us already. As I write, the sun is shining outside and the temperature is nudging 20ºC, here’s hoping it lasts! In this issue we’ve got lots of lovely ideas for making the most of the warm weather, from our easy-to-sew picnic rug and cutlery roll on page 64, to the simple but stylish garden craft projects on page 60. If you see an old wooden pallet by the side of the road or in a skip, then take a look at our brilliant furniture facelift feature on page 62 where we show you how to upcycle it into a funky garden table. Now is a good time to attend to any structures that may need fixing before the autumn weather sets in. And, if your fence is looking a little worse for wear, take a look at page 66 where we show how easy it is to fit new fence panels. The summer months tend to be when we spend most time in our conservatories. If yours is looking a little dated, then you’re bound to find inspiration from our gorgeous makeovers in this issue (p.24). Whether your taste is funky and colourful, or muted and classic you’ll find a style you’ll love. If you’re lucky enough to have been away on holiday over the summer months you may well have visited the Mediterranean. On page 100 we discover there’s more to Mediterranean food than Spanish and Italian dishes, as we bring you some delicious recipe ideas from the Eastern Mediterranean. My favourite is the radish and quinoa tabouleh with herbed halloumi. Do try it, I know you’ll love it!
