ENGLAND'S BIGGEST PIKE FOUND DEAD
England's biggest ‘official’ pike has been found dead after living to the ripe old age of 17. The ‘big girl’ at Wykeham Lakes, in North Yorkshire, wasfound last weekend in the middle of the heatwave. It is the same fish that set an English record in 2014 at 46 lb 11 oz to Wyndon Coole, itself the second biggest publicised pike capture inthe UK, behind the official British record of 46 lb 13 oz by Roy Lewis from Llandegfedd Reservoir, in Wales, in 1992. But there were very strong rumours of pike of 48 lb 12 oz and 47 lb from Somerset’s Blagdon Lake.
