If ever there was a time to send an emergency drag SOS flare into the sky, it was during Krystal Versace’s Attitude photo shoot – her first-ever magazine shoot, no less. Drag Race UK’s freshly crowned queen made a rare, well, boob when she forgot to bring along her signature breastplate, which a number of the looks for the fashion show-inspired creative were dependent on.
An Uber was immediately sent to her flat to collect the heaving bosoms and the crisis was seemingly averted – until, that is, the driver went off-grid, and we lost touch with him.
Had he taken Krystal’s unaccompanied assets hostage? Cue a frantic scurry along the streets of Chancery Lane and Holborn on a bitingly cold Sunday afternoon to track down the tits-intransit. As panic levels bubbled from mild to major, the driver finally delivered the breasts safe and sound. Ph-fucking-ew.
No diamond in the rough, Krystal, aka Luke Fenn, from Kent, shone bright as soon as she strutted into the series three werk room. The former makeup artist dazzled from the get-go with her flawless, painted-for-the-gawds mug, but she quickly proved that she is more than just a pretty face. Indeed, Mama Ru didn’t even attempt to hide her soft spot for the wise-beyond-her-years ingenue.
As the youngest winner of any Drag Race series – she’s only 20 *channels best Louis Walsh impression* – Krystal could be forgiven if her head was still in the clouds following her triumph over sisters Kitty Scott-Claus and Ella Vaday in the finale, but her noggin could not be more screwed on. Even if her habit of wearing oversized sunglasses indoors suggests otherwise. “I always have – on the train, everywhere,” she giggles.
