Aviation News  |  May 2013
In the 84-page May issue of Aviation News incorporating Classic Aircraft we have the first of an occasional series looking at the latest developments at important heritage airfields. We start the series with an article detailing the latest news at Duxford, from the museum as well as the many companies that operate and restore classic aircraft at the airfield. The cover subject this month is the RAF’s famous 617 Squadron, the Dambusters, as there is an article looking back over this illustrious unit’s history as it marks the 70th anniversary of its formation and the famous Dams raid.
After last month’s full airshow listing for the year we have the start our monthly calendar for the immediate months ahead, as well as the latest airshow news including details of what interesting aircraft will be attending events.
In our ongoing ‘Room with a View’ series featuring hotels near airports with great views to watch the action and take photographs, we detail a hotel at Madrid’s Barajas International Airport which receives flights from many airlines from Latin America.
