Cage & Aviary Birds  |  5-Apr-23
Meet the dipper: a charismatic softbill that is adapted to aquatic life as well as a penguin! We learn the secrets of one of Britain’s most lovable birds, which can use the same nest over several generations for 50 years or more. In canaryland we’re celebrating early eggs (before Easter), with a reminder that a keeper’s work and watchfulness must not slacken now. We learn how to protect baby budgies and breed those “difficult” pied zebra finches, discover the workings of the crop, and round up the softbill and North East regional scenes. Finally, we pay tribute to the great Dave Tanner, so sadly now deceased.
