A WASHED up mattress is not the sort of water bed Campbeltown residents want.
A foam double-mattress ended up beside Campbeltown’s ferry terminal more than a month ago, resting on a bed of seaweed, among a pile of other debris, including many plastic bottles. Despite being reported to Argyll and Bute Council more than a week before, it was still there on Tuesday.
According to the council’s press office, the mattress was to be removed on Wednesday at low tide.
