Cheese behind the scenes
See how food awards are really judged. Launched last year to promote the best in British and Irish cheesemaking – an industry heavily challenged by the pandemic – the second annual Virtual Cheese Awards recognises the best across eight categories, including blue, cheddar and artisan cheeses. Featuring live judging and talks with cheese experts, the event on 7 May will be hosted by food broadcaster Nigel Barden and streamed via the Awards’ Facebook page and YouTube channel. Donate to view extra content and support cheesemakers through the Specialist Cheesemakers Association. virtualcheeseawards.com
