Remembering Falklands’ heroes
The May 2022 issue of FlyPast remembers the heroes of the Falklands War on the 40th anniversary of the conflict, reflecting on the aircraft and the men who flew them. Artist Ryan Dorling’s impression of BAe Sea Harrier FRS.1 XZ457 launching from the deck of HMS Hermes adorns our cover. This aircraft shot down four Argentine jets during the 1982 engagement. The Sea Harrier is justly legendary for its role – we reflect on this and many of the other aircraft involved.
