Since I took up the editor’s chair in September I have been spending a lot of time fi rming up my ideas about where I want to take the magazine, and the more I cogitated over the content the more we all became convinced that we needed a radical redesign to emphasise the seriousness with which we regard the subject. The look of the magazine is largely in the hands of our designer, Alan Wares, so we hope you will join us in giving him the round of applause he deserves.
