THERE was a healthy response to our story that a suggestion has been put forward about possibly building a skatepark near the Corran Halls, with almost everyone in favour. Wilma Wardrop praised: ‘Good idea and it’s about time. We should be encouraging the young people to be active and outdoors. A skate park would be a great addition to the town all ages could use it with bikes, skates and skooters.’
Philip Picken suggested: ‘Since the council allowed the old Argyll Hotel to be knocked down on the provision of a new one being built. Why not use this eyesore of a site rather than a perfectly good communal area!’
Margaret Mclellan posted: ‘Would that also cater for the teenagers I saw yesterday on bicycles, on and off the coping stones on the new bit at Stafford Street.’
