Lismore Primary School unveiled its new play park at its open day on Friday. The parent council organised fundraising car washes, family ceilidhs and curry and quiz nights to replace the old play park, which had fallen into disrepair.
The children were consulted on what equipment they would like and decided on a basket swing, a bridge, a look-out tower with climbing ladders and poles, a sandpit and a pulley, a spiders web and a balance assault course. Just aTher Christmas, the parent council had raised enough money to buy and build the play park on land rented from Argyll and Bute Council and Scotplay began construction in April.
The school was brightly decorated for the opening, with much of the year’s work on display including floor books, art work and information boards. There was also a short film about the new play park and a display giving information about its journey from start to finish.
