is your first legacy game designed from the ground up to include those defining mechanics, rather than adapting an existing framework as with
Risk
and
Pandemic
. How did this affect your approach to the game?
It was a bit ambitious as it was the largest, most complicated game that I’d ever started and only my second legacy game. In retrospect, probably more than I should’ve taken on for my first post-Hasbro life. But Risk Legacy had some buzz and I was eager to do something big so I dug in. The result was a long design and development cycle.
