I listened to an interesting radio interview the other day about the number of people in the UK who either still own their childhood soft toy or who as adults still cuddle a bear at night. I am lucky enough to still have two of my childhood bears, as my mum kept them carefully stored in the loft once I thought I had outgrown them. Finding myself editing TBT & Friends many years later, I am so thankful that she did. It was lovely to rediscover them and they now have pride of place on a chair in my hallway at home. There is a certain power attached to a soft toy, whether it’s sentimental attachment to the past or comfort in stressful times. It just so happens that we have a few articles in this issue that illustrate the power of a teddy bear to give unconditional love and comfort - I hope you enjoy reading them all.
Over at the Bear Hospital, Dot Bird sees an interesting patient who has a mysterious secret hidden within and Julie Shepherd tackles joints. We meet more talented bear artists, new and well established. If you have a favorite bear artist that we haven’t featured in the magazine, do email and let us know their name and we will try to get in touch. You can also leave a direct message on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please give us a like and a follow - it’s great to receive all your comments. www.facebook.com/TeddyBear TimesMag and @teddybeartimes on Instagram.
