TALKING TO FELIPE MASSA AND NICO ROSBERG
A combination that, since always, however, unites the two worlds. All the best drivers started from karting, a given fact. The similarity in question, however, is of another type, that is, the changing composition of the international karting movement, now comparable to the world of the maximum expression of autosports. Huge caravans, mobile homes, professional teams with top technical and competitive power, make the school of Champions, a true beginning of motoring in its pure state.
To the “formula” described above, one needs to add a number of well-known faces from the world that us fans all live in. From former drivers, fathers and mechanics of their heirs, like Jarno Trulli, to the likes of Emerson Fittipaldi or Nico Rosberg, recent World Champion and “owner” of the Rosberg Racing team led by Dino Chiesa. But there are more: Rubens Barrichello, who has returned not only as a spectator but as a competitor with his recent participation in the World KZ and, it appears, ready for a 2018 encore, in Genk. Plus Juan Pablo Montoya, Luca Badoer, Giorgio Pantano, Ralf Schumacher and many others. Last, but not least, the new president of CIK FIA, Felipe Massa. A role of prestige, the Brazilian’s, another leading figure in modern Formula One and in the forthcoming FE Championship, with Massa’s running next season now official.
In the first round of the European CIK FIA in Sarno, we asked Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa, their opinions and impressions on the current world of karting. From the profound karting experience of Rosberg, a member of the Chiesa dream team with Lewis Hamilton, to the Brazilian’s ambitions. Impressions and facets that, once again, link the training ground of champions to the major league.
