Asia Max Challenge 2018 Sepang Karting Circuit (MYS) 18 March, Round 1 – 15 April, Round 2

About sixty drivers competed in the first round of the Asia Max Challenge. This first appointment was broadcast in live streaming, an indispensable service that, however, requires some improvement. The hot temperatures of this race weekend was unbearable; to cool things off, it rained heavily during the second heat of the DD2. Race interrupted, of course, to allow competitors to mount rain tires. The spectators didn’t seem to mind, stayed on to show their support to their favorites on a wet track. The duel between Senna Noor and Tai Zulberti gifted fans with a great show and the audience was appreciative. In the end, Senna succeeded, capable of holding off the pressure of rival Tai Zulberti. Ariff Amran finished third.

After the debut in Salbris, the IAME Euro Series moved to Mariembourg for the 2nd of 4 scheduled events.
The BNL Karting Series aims to be one of the leading protagonists in Europe and 2018 will be the year for the Belgian championship to play its hand, a league that has invested plenty in economic and other terms in its effort to succeed in its intentions.

Analyzing the data of the previous tests on the track
Giovanni Corona, former technical manager of Vortex, does not feel that he’s in retirement and he’s not in the mood to tell anecdotes about his long and successful career. With him we mostly talked about technical matters, the evolution and involution of this sport, seen with a critical and never superficial eye.
After listening to the story of the people who took part in the project we could not resist, and so we set off to experience first hand the thrill of racing on the San Pancrazio track, “the track where were you’d go to dream”, to quote Max Papis, one of the fathers of the project. The track is located about ten hours total flight time from Italy, (see box) but it was definitely worth it.
The city of Finlay in Ohio is known as Flag City USA; however those that have knowledge of the early days of American kart racing know about Findlay for a totally different reason. Findlay was the city where SAE karts were originally built beginning towards the end of 1957 in premises located at 305 Taylor Street.
