MINI STENSHORNE FIGHTS AND WINS
Pre-finals. At the end of the usual heats on Friday, the usual hard fought battle in 60 Mini, again with numerous drivers: 82. With four wins out of four, Andrea Kimi Antonelli takes the first spot on the grid of Prefinal A. Ten laps to the showdown, dominated far and wide by the Italian. Behind him, Powell and Stenshorne, ready for the final attack. In group B, Ean Eyckmans starts from the front, back from three wins out of four head-to-head matches. The Belgian is even better than Antonelli, winning the pre-final with over three seconds on Bergstrom, second and Bohra, third at the finish line. The final. With the starting grid established by the results of the pre-finals, a tough fight for the conquest of the title was sure to ensue. At the beginning, Antonelli, Powell and Bergstrom put on a show. Rapid exchange of positions, thanks to a slow Eyckmans at the start, with the Swede immediately incisive on Antonelli and leader on the second lap. As the two tussle, the third man benefits, hence Stenshorne, fifth on the grid. The Norwegian, without delay, jumps into the fray passing Antonelli first and then Bergstrom on the fifth lap. A Nordic derby for the entire second half of the race, as many as three change of positions between the Swede and the Norwegian; thanking them is Brando Badoer, who meanwhile climbed up to a podium finish. On the tenth and last lap, last thrill for the 60 Mini with Stenshorne crossing the finish line first with just over a second on Badoer, Powell and Bergstrom.
