Nasr and Tandy masterfully negotiated the streets of Long Beach in their 963
V ictories on both the US’s east and west coasts on 12 April kept up Porsche’s trophy-laden start to the 2025 motorsport season. At Long Beach in California, Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr delivered a third straight win in the IMSA Sportscar Championship, while at Homestead (Miami) in Florida, reigning Formula E world champion Pascal Wehrlein topped a podium for the first time this season after a typically convoluted climax played out in the German’s favour.
HAT-TRICK HEROES
Tandy and Nasr can apparently do no wrong right now in their Porsche 963 hypercar. In the wake of their historic wins at both the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours, the duo conquered the 100-minute sprint at Long Beach, America’s most famous street venue. Once again, BMW’s M Hybrid V8 set the pace and started from pole position, but quick pit work vaulted Nasr and Tandy’s 963 to the front, with the sister car of Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell completing a Porsche one-two. BMW’s Dries Vanthoor and Philipp Eng were left with the consolation of a first podium finish in 2025.
