BALLET2000 English Edition  |  BALLET2000
n° 300; BALLET2000 becomes a quarterly
Readers who have followed us from the very beginning, 300 issues ago, may feel a twinge of emotion on seeing once again on the cover the photo of Rudolf Nureyev that appeared on the very first cover of this magazine, launched in 1980 as BALLETTO and renamed BALLET2000 ten years later, as part of a ‘triad’ of international editions.
Many steps have since marked the international stages of ballet and contemporary dance, faithfully but never passively reported in the tens of thousands of pages of the magazine, now regularly published in three editions: , France, Italia and English Edition (each in print and digital format).
Originally quarterly, the publication later became bimonthly, then monthly; it now returns to a quarterly rhythm: i. e. four issues per year, in March, June, September and December. We believe this formula optimises the magazine’s presence in the real calendar of dance activity, especially in these challenging times.
Each issue will thus remain in circulation for three months.
Apart from that, its profile will remain unchanged, except for the ongoing effort to refine its informative and critical outlook on the art of dance. A body of work recognised internationally, which – paradoxically, but not entirely – has proved all the more relevant and appreciated as new forms of digital communication have spread, in contrast to which a true magazine created by professionals in dance journalism provides a filter of expertise and reliability beyond compare.
We mark this 300th issue with that promise alone.
