Cayman Airways has retired its longest-serving jet, Boeing 737-3Q8, VP-CKY (c/n 26282). The 122-seat aircraft’s last commercial rotation was on November 5, operating flight KX833 from Havana to Grand Cayman, ending 14 years of service with the airline. It was then ferried to
Goodyear, Arizona, where it was returned to lessor AerCap. It is the first of four examples being retired under the airline’s fleet modernisation plan, which will see all its -300s replaced by MAX 8s by 2020.
